Open in App
Solution

Corrosion on Iron basically an oxide formed on the surface of iron when the surface is exposed to open air. Iron reacts with oxygen to form ferrous oxide which is brown in color and we often call it as corrosion. When iron is coated with a layer of oil, the surface is not directly exposed to air ,thus preventing oxide formation
