Why does Earth look blue-green when viewed from the space?
Due to scattering of light reflected from water and landmass on its surface.
The light rays coming from the Sun are reflected from water and landmass on its surface and these are scattered in the atmosphere selectively. The other colours in the spectrum are absorbed by the atmosphere while blue and green are left out. Hence, Earth appears blue and green from outer space. That is why Earth is also called as the blue planet.
