Question

Why does it take some time to see objects in a dim room when you enter the room from bright sunshine outside ?

Open in App
Solution

When we enter a dim room from bright sunshine, at first we cannot see anything clearly. After a short time our vision improves. This is because in bright sunshine the pupil of our eye is small and when we just enter the dim room, very little light enters our eye due to which we cannot see properly. After a while, when the pupil of our eye expands, more light enters our eye and we can see clearly.
