Why not different other colours like maroon

White light is made up of seven colors- VIBGYOR [ violet , indigo, blue , green ,yellow,orange and red] . we can see this process in dispersion of white light, The process of splitting of white light into its component seven colors, Hence light split only into seven colours not other complementary colors.
