Why does liquor ammonia fortis needs to be stored in tightly stoppered bottles in a cold place ?
(liquor ammonia fortis is also called 880 Ammonia, so are these two basically conc. NH4OH ?)

The liquid ammonia suddenly vaporises and gases out of the bottle with the force . This may lead to serious accident . Hence the liquid ammonia fortis needs to be stored in tightly stoppered bottles in a cold place. Liquod ammonia fortis is a saturated solution of ammonia in water. It is called 880 ammonia. Hense It has a relative density of 0.880. It is stored in tightly stoppered bottles in a cold place
