Question

why does sperm production requires less temperature than our body temperature ?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

The high temperature is damaging to the sperms. To escape from the higher temperature of the body, the testicles descent into the scrotum. The temperature in the human scrotum is usually 1 to 2 degree lower that the normal body temperature (which is 37degree Celsius). This temperature is needed to maximise sperm production. When temperature rises sperm production falls and person may become infertile.
