why does the galvanometer show opposite deflection when south pole of a magnetic bar is taken towards the solenoid

Answer when the south pole of a magnet bar is takentowards the solenoid , a deflection in opposite direction is observed ,this is baiscally due to the opposite direction direction of current ,that means when the south pole of magnet is taken towards the sloenoid a current in opposite direction is produce so galvanometre shows opposite deflection .
