Question

Why does the rate of evaporation increase with increase in temperature?

Open in App
Solution

Evaporation increases with the increase in temperature because,

  • The molecules get more kinetic energy to convert into vapour
  • When the water is heated, the water molecules tend to move rapidly.
  • This makes the molecules escape faster.
  • Therefore the rate of evaporation increases as there is an increase in temperature.
