Besides litmus, turmeric is also used as a natural indicator. By natural indicator, I mean a dye extracted from some coloring part of a plant, and used to detect the acidic and basic medium and other pH changes.

Turmeric gives yellow colour in acid medium and brownish red in basic medium.

Here lemon juice is acidic, so it changes to yellow.
