Why don't we use petrol instead of coal in thermal power plants though petrol has higher calorific value and can produce more energy?

You know that petrol is the fuel in many vehicles over 100 s of countries.The need of petrol increases day by day.But coal has not such wider usage among us.It mainly uses in factories.So coal will be available in cheaplly in desired quantity.
Thats what petrol is not used in thermal power plant.The highly inflamable nature of petrol is also a reason for this.
