Question

Why electrons are called as universal particles ?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
Electrons are called as universal particles as their charge and mass are always fixed irrespective of the source of emission and the method used for emission. It was observed that material or gas used in discharge tube do not affect the charge and mass of the emitted electrons. So, they are called as universal particles.
