Solution
Dear student,
The round shapes of the planets and stars can be explained by effect of gravitation. Larger the object larger will be effect of gravity. Hence solid matter is pulled in by force of gravitation to assume a shape of minimum volume to attain a shape with possible least potential energy, which is spherical shape. Even in case of stars which are made up of gases, similar explanation can be given.
