Question

Why fossils are not found in igneous and metamorphic rocks?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

The igneous rocks are the hardest of all rocks that are formed by the cooling and consequent solidification of the earth's lava. On the other hand, metamorphic rocks are formed when igneous or sedimentary rocks are altered due to high pressure.

Fossils are not found in these rocks as the temperature and pressure conditions of these rocks destroys the fossil fuels.
