Question

Why H2O2 cannot be stored in glass bottle?

Open in App
Solution

Hydrogen peroxide is unstable and very reactive. It's vapours are explosive in natureat normal temperatures and pressures. It decomposes easily and can lead to hazardous reactions . so it should be kept very carefully. It should be stored in cool dry well ventilated areas and away from combustible substances. It should be kept in non reactive containers. As it breaks down quickly when exposed to light it should be placed in opaque bottles( Brown Bottles).
