Why halogens are strong oxidising agent?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

An oxidizing agent oxidises others and reduces itself. Halogens (X2 like F2, Cl2 etc) can easily accept electrons and convert to X- it means they can easily get reduce so they are good oxidizing agents.
