Question

Why heat transfer in liquids is more prominent than that in gases?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Liquid molecules are closer than the particles in gases due to this when heat is distributed, the particles are able to collide with each other, transferring heat energy.

In gases, the particles are much further apart and the particles collides each other less frequently, thus making heat transfer less prominent
