The balanced chemical equation of Habers process is as follows:
N2(g) + 3H2(g) → 2NH3(g)


Every 1 mole of nitrogen gas that takes part in the reaction will consume 3 moles of hydrogen gas and produce 1 mole of ammonia.
This is the reason why this concentration is used.
