Why in our country the government has taken up the responsibility of public sector activities? Give reasons

(i) The government has to undertake the heavy spending facilities like construction of roads, bridges, railways, harbours, generating electricity, providing irrigation through dams etc.
(ii) The government has undertaken these to ensure the availability of these facilities to all.
(iii) To provide electricity at a lower cost is the main objective of the government to protect and encourage the small scale industries.
