Question

Why, in your opinion, did the man set the doves free?

Open in App
Solution

In my opinion the man set the doves free because he knew that the animals and birds did not belong in cages. Instead they were a part of nature and were supposed to be kept free. When he told Mr. Purcell that he was given five dollars and a cheap suit, he probably meant that he too was locked up. Thus he understood the value of his freedom and related to the animals in the cages.
