Why inert gases do not form compounds?
Outermost orbits of inert gases are fully filled. Completely filled outermost orbit is a very stable electronic configuration. Hence, they do not react to form compound.
Noble gases are inert and do not form compounds like other elements because of their:
(a) How many electrons do inert gases have in their valence shells?
(b) Name an element of group 18 which can form compounds.
