Question

Why iron react with steam only?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
Iron is less reactive compared to sodium and potassium thus it cannot react with cold water so some energy has to be provided to carry out the reaction. As we know that steam has higher energy compared to water, so it reacts easily.
