Why is a magnetic needle used in the tester made to test mostly weak conductors? [3 MARKS]
Explanation: 3 Marks
Electric Current can produce magnetic field lines which makes the magnetic needle to deflect even when the current is small. In other words, the deflection in the magnetic needle can be seen even when the density of the magnetic flux lines are very low. In weak conductors ,because of the amount of electricity flowing through the conductor is low, this in turn produces very weak magnetic field lines .But the low density of magnetic field lines is able to affect the sensitivity of the magnetic needle in the tester. This helps the tester to record flow of current even in weak conductors.
Thus it is used to test weak conductors.
