In the series arrangement, if any one of the components stops working, the circuit gets broken up and none of the devices work. Moreover, all the appliances have only one switch due to which they cannot be turned on or off separately. The appliances do not get the same voltage (220V) as that of the power supply line. So, series arrangement is not used.
