Why isAIDSa syndrome not a disease?

AIDS is caused by a virus called as HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) which kills the immune cells of our body (Helper T Cells). These helper T cells are responsible for the production of antibodies from B cells (Antibody-producing cells) to fight different infections and pathogens. So when a person is infected with HIV, his immunity to fight against different pathogens is much lowered as a result different types of viral and bacterial pathogens can invade his body and different types of diseases and infections, affecting different body parts and organs can be developed. So AIDS is not a single disease but a group of disease. That's why it is called as a syndrome.
