Why is alternating current is used in transformer

Dear Student,
Transformer work on principle of induction . We know induction produced only by changing current
(flux) . In transformer by changing current in one coil (primary coil) there is induced current in the
other coil ( secondary coil) . That is why we use AC current in transformer .
