Reason for Aluminium is a bad conductor:

  • In comparison to other metals like gold, silver, and copper, aluminium is a poor heat and electricity conductor.
  • Aluminium has strong conductivity for electricity and heat because it has three electrons in the free state, but its conductivity is lower than copper since it is less dense.
  • Although aluminium is a poor conductor of electricity when compared to copper, it is less expensive, hence it is occasionally utilised in everyday products.
  • Another advantage of aluminium over other metals is its low density and great corrosion resistance.
  • Aluminium is used in insulated power supply cables because it is less expensive and has a low density.
