Solution
Banana plant produces fruits without fertilization of ovules as the male flowers are sterile so the pollination cannot take place. The female flowers gradually develop into green fruits that resemble fingers. The fruit is formed due to induction of growth hormones. Seeds are not formed and hence it is parthenocarpic. The cluster of flowers is covered by a waxy bract.
