Part 1: Introduction
Breathing is the process of exchange of gases between the environment and the body through the lungs. During this process, we take in oxygen (utilized in respiration) and CO2 ( produced in respiration) is released out.
Part 2:Importance of breathing
Humans are obligate aerobes that cannot survive for long in the absence of oxygen. This is because human beings primarily undergo aerobic respiration. Thus breathing is essential to obtain the oxygen from the environment and also eliminate the carbon dioxide produced as a product of aerobic respiration.
