Open in App
Solution

Chemisorption:

  1. Chemisorption is a type of adsorption that involves a chemical reaction and the development of a covalent connection between a molecule and one or more atoms on the surface.

Activated Adsorption:

  1. There is formation of a chemical link between the reactants and the adsorbent, thus chemisorption is also known as active adsorption.
  2. Large activation energy is required for the creation of chemical bonds.

Hence, chemisorption is called activated adsorption.
