WHY IS CLAYEY SOIL IS USED FOR MAKING POTS ?

Dear student,

Clayey soil holds more moisture than other soils (loamy, sandy & silt). This makes it very sticky when wet, hence it can be moulded easily into any form. After the soil becomes dry, the structures become really hard & hence it is not easily breakable.

This is why clayey soil is used to make pots.
