Why is CNG better than diesel?

Part 1: Reason of CNG as better fuel over diesel
The following are the reasons why CNG is better than diesel:-

• Cheaper fuel and cannot be adulterated.
• Clean fuel: Combustion leaves very little hydrocarbon residues. The damage to pipes is less compared to diesel, as a result maintenance costs are less.
• Complete combustion of the fuel takes place and causes the release of small amounts of greenhouse gases. Hydrocarbons are produced 45% less than petrol/ diesel. It leaves less particulate matter than diesel. Therefore, it does not harm the environment.
• High ignition temperature reduces flammability. Therefore, there are less chances of catching fire. On incidence of leaks, CNG being lighter than air will dissipate into the atmosphere.
