1. Any substance present in our environment that is useful for us or helps to satisfy the needs of a person is a resource.
2. They should be accessible to us.
3. Coal, petroleum, fossil fuels, forest etc. are some examples of resources.

Conservation of resources:

1. Some of the resources are non renewable and some takes time to get renewed like petroleum, thus it is necessary to conserve resources so that the future generation can use it.
2. These resources also helps to maintain the balance of ecology an=s all the lives in an environment is interlinked, thus helps in continuation of life.
