Democracy is a system in which the government of a country is elected by the people. Other main forms of governments include-
1. communism 2. dictatorship 3. socialism 4. monarchy 5. theocracy
the following are the reasons why democracy is more preffered today-
1. it is morally valid.
2. it allows the citizens to chose their own government.
3. there is no partiality on the bases of relgon, caste, creed etc
4. A significant strength of democracy as a form of government is that it makes political disagreement is less likely.
5. it is because of the elections that majority of the population is satisfied with the government.
