Down syndrome:

1. Down syndrome is a genetic disorder known as the trisomy of 21.
2. It is a genetic condition that is linked to an extra set of chromosome 21.
3. This occurs due the abnormal cell division that occurs during the formation of gametes (sperm and egg cell).
4. It is not curable as our current medicine and technology cannot get rid of the extra copy of the chromosome.
5. Although, important skills can be improved by speech, physical, and occupational therapy.
