Question

Why is earth wire called so ?

Open in App
Solution

There are three wires present in a circuit: live wire, neutral wire and earth wire. If the live wire touches the casing of material, the current flows throughout the circuit and the user might get severe shock. Hence, earth wire is present that is grounded to the earth and creates safe route for current to flow. It is called so as it is grounded deep inside the earth.
