Why is earthing provided in buildings?
To protect from electrical shocks
An earthing system or grounding system is used to connect parts of the electric circuit with the ground. This helps in transferring the charge to the Earth and protects us from electrical shocks. So, the process of connecting an appliance to the Earth by means of an additional wire called the earth wire that is buried deep under the surface of the Earth is called earthing. Any leaked charges will flow through the earth wire to the Earth where it gets absorbed.
