Open in App
Solution

Eddy Current:

  1. Eddy currents are currents that form in an exceeding conductor as a result of a changing magnetic field.

Solution:

Eddy current is bad because,

  1. Overheating of metallic cores of transformers, electric motors, and other such devices takes place.
  2. Dissipation of electrical energy in the form of heat occurs due to which there is a wastage of energy.

Thus, Eddy current is bad because there is excessive energy loss in form of heat which reduces the life of appliances.
