Question

Why is emigration not a cause of population growth? (Can't it be called as a negative growth of population?)

Open in App
Solution

Emigration implies moving of people from one country to another, to settle in a new country, either temporarily or permanently.
Emigration does not change the size of the population, but only influences the distribution of population. Hence, it cannot be termed a cause for population growth.
