Open in App
Solution

Fermentation:

  1. Fermentation is the process of production of alcohol and acids via the reduction of glucose in the absence of glucose.
  2. It's a wasteful process as it generates very little energy (<7%) that is released and trapped in the form of ATP.
  3. Moreover, it also produces substances such as acid or alcohol, which is hazardous.
