Question

Why is forest affected by war??

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

Wars had a significant impact on environment leading to deforestation. During the World Wars, British had cut down forests of India to meet the war needs .To restrain Japan from enjoying the profits from the forest industry, the Dutch destroyed saw mills and teak logs in Java. This reckless cutting down of forests to fulfil war requirements had severe impact on forests as they got depleted which took years to grow and replenish.

Regards.
