Solution
Reproduction:
Reproduction is the process of production of new offspring which are either similar or identical to the parents. It can be asexual or sexual.
Asexual production involves only one parent while sexual reproduction involve two parents where the egg(female gamete) and sperm(male gamete) fuse to form a zygote which further develop into an offspring.
Importance of DNA copying:
DNA is the double helical structure which contains the genetic information of an organism. If the DNA is not copied in correct way then it may cause genetic problems or abnormality in the offspring produced.
DNA copying helps in the continuity of species and their characteristics.
It also helps the organism to adapt and survive itself in the environment by causing variations.
Mutations in DNA copying can be caused by deletion or addition of the sequence of DNA.
It carries the inheritable characteristics which are passed on to the offspring from parents.
