Question

Why is it advisable not to shut all the doors and windows during a storm?

Solution

During the storm, not shut doors:

  1. It is understood that there is an inverse relationship between speed and pressure. The storm has a considerable speed so it has low pressure.
  2. If one closes all the windows and doors of the house then the pressure within the house will be more than the outside surroundings.
  3. This pressure difference can damage the roof of the house as the wind blows from higher pressure to lower pressure.

To avoid this it is advised to open the windows and door.
