Cooking utensils are generally made up of metals like copper, aluminum, steel, brass, etc. Pickles and curd are not stored in metallic utensils because when they are kept in metallic utensils. Curd or pickle reacts with metals. This reaction will initiate the formation of toxic compounds which may be unfit for human consumption and may cause food poisoning. Thus, pickles and curd are not stored in metallic utensils.
