Why is it convenient to express the distance of stars in terms of light year. rather than in metre or kilometre?

Open in App
Solution

The distance from one astronomical body to another is very large that's why we use astronomical unit. One light year is about 10 trillion km so it heard to say or calculate the values in 10000000000000 km instead of 1 light year.it is also easy to remember and visualize.
