Why is it difficult to walk on a smooth and wet floor?

Solution

Frictional Force:

  1. Friction is defined as the resistance offered by the surfaces that are in contact when they move past each other.
  2. Frictional force depends on the smoothness or roughness of the surfaces.
  3. If the surface is smooth then force becomes less or on the other hand, it becomes more for a rough surface.
  4. In the case of smooth and wet flour friction is very less as compared to dry or rough surfaces.

Hence, it is difficult to walk on a smooth and wet floor.
