Why is it easy to roll down a heavy weight than to slide it

Dear Student ,
When we roll down an object the net force acting over the object acts in the direction of motion of the object and when we slide it down then the net force acts in the opposite direction of motion .Thus we can say that it is easier to roll down an object rather than sliding it .
