Open in App
Solution

Blood consists of plasma and cellular components. Animal cells are not protected by cell walls. Therefore, a change in osmotic concentration will lead to either loss or gain of water by the cells, damaging their structure and function. So, it is necessary to maintain normal osmotic concentration of blood.
