Solution
Non-stick pans require very little to no oil to cook food. Due to this, they were a popular choice of utensils for health-conscious people.
However, it is not advisable to use non-stick pans for cooking because the chemical responsible for the non-sticky surface of pans is made up of a type of plastic called Teflon.
Teflon is stable only if cooking is done below 260° C. At temperatures higher than this, Teflon begins to break down and release harmful chemicals.
These chemicals can be inhaled through fumes or ingested through cooked food which has adverse effects on human health.
