Question

Why is it not possible to induce magnetism with alternating current?

Open in App
Solution

The reason being for the first half cycle of A. C. current, the magnetizationof the conductor will take place and for the next half cycle, the direction of current is reversed, as a result of which demagnetization of the conductor takes place. So it does not become possible to magnetise a conductor by alternating current.
