Reproductive health refers to a healthy reproductive life with healthy reproductive organs and their normal functioning, ensuring emotional, social and physical well-being.
2: Significance of reproductive health
Reproductively fit individuals:
● Have healthy children usually without birth defects which have better chances of survival.
● Are physically fit to bear a healthy child (if females).
● Have a minimum chance of the spread of various sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS, syphilis etc.
● Reproductively healthy society has a maintained population and prevents population explosion.
● Individuals of a sound reproductive society can avoid unwanted and teenage pregnancies.
